Abstract
¡®Background : Cardiovascular MR has recently been reported that it can determine the visble
¡®myocardium. We investigated this study to determine the usefulness of cardiovascular MR in
prediction of wall moion recovery after revascularization in acule myocardial infarction

Method : Both cardiovascular MR with contrast enhancement snd coronsry angiogram were
performod in 19 pationts with acuie myocardial infarction who treated with precutancous intervertion
or thromblytic therapy. Six menths follow-up angiogram and MR sty were also preformed. Thirty
o matched segments model o the lft vertricl were used to analyss the wall motion change and
the grade of transmural extent of hyperenhancement (TEL).

¡®Results : Among 628 segments, 177 segments showed wall motion abrormaity. In group of
¡®segments showing hypokinesia (B8 segments) the proportion of segments showing wall motion
improvement was not different from tha of the ainelc segments group (109 segments) (S0% vs
41.3%, p=0.29. The proportion of segments showing wall micn improvement were 605% i group
of TEI grade 0, 58.9% in TEI grade I, 51.2% in TEI grade Il 20.4% in TEl grade IV, 8% in TEL
grade V. If the groups were divided into two according to cut-off value of TEI 50%, In the group.
of TiI lss than SO%, 67 out of 118 segments (56.8%) showed wall molion improvement in conrast
with 12 out of 59 segments (0% in the group of TEL above 0% (p<00). The status of baseline.
wall motion abnormaliy (hypokinesia or akinesia) did not effect on wall moton improvement afier
revascularization.
